Mother Earth Sweatlodge
A Life-Affirming Ceremony of Fire, Darkness and Renewal
You are warmly invited to join us around the fire and inside the ancient, womb-like darkness of the sweatlodge.
Together we give thanks to life — through prayer, song, drum, breath, heat and humility.
We gather to remember the Temple of Grace: the simple, beautiful way of relating with the world.
We call upon the ancestors for guidance, offering mugwort and tobacco to bridge old and new, and to restore harmony within ourselves and our communities.
Bring your sorrows. Bring your gratitude. Bring the obstacles you are ready to name and release.
Lay them on the altar alongside your offerings.
Be supported — and support others — through four rounds of heat, steam, darkness, songs and prayers.
A new life begins with sweat.
Why We Sweat
In four ceremonial rounds, we pray together for all that exists — our families, our communities, the land, and the future generations.
We sweat to cleanse the body, reconnect the mind with the fabric of life, and open the heart to guidance.
We sweat to renew our relationship with Great Spirit and with Mother Nature.
We sweat to walk again from darkness into light.
Who Can Come
This is a community ceremony. You are welcome to come with family, children, and/or a partner.
Everyone will help build the altar, the lodge, and the fire.
Once the stones are ready and the ceremony begins, the lodge becomes a dedicated sacred space.
Those not entering the lodge are invited to remain nearby in silence, holding a helpful and respectful presence.
There is also indoor space available — kitchen, living room, shared sleeping room, and a community wagon — for resting, caring for children, or simply being part of the atmosphere in another way.
We warmly welcome:
The young, accompanied by someone they trust
The feminine, in all lunar phases
The masculine, seeking renewal through a hero’s journey
Inside the lodge we sit in the dark - We sweat naked and ask you to wear as much as you need. (Most people enter with only a towel.)
Who can not go into the lodge
A sweatlodge is generally safe — if you can tolerate a sauna, you can usually tolerate a sweatlodge.
Do NOT enter the lodge if you have:
acute heart or lung conditions
severe mental health challenges
You are always allowed to exit the lodge and are welcome to participate around the fire.
If in doubt, please consult your physician and inform us as soon as possible. If you have any concerns — physical or emotional — please write us an Email to connect@mightytree.dk. You will also find more details in our general information about sweatlodges.
